It looks like we are on a road to resolution. We've received calls and visits from Colorado College faculty who want to assure us that we have their support.

Meanwhile we have met with Dave Lord, the administrator responsible for our recent troubles. Lord instructed our property manager to make the intimidation call, in advance of any complaints. Then Lord called the city to see if there was anything the city would be willing to do to reign us in.

The college disavowes any intentions which would be reflected by such actions, for which we are very happy. Here is the language we've asked to be amended to the current lease, which would spell out our right to express ourselves, in American-like fashion, about the illegal war in Iraq.

AMENDMENT TO PARAGRAPH 4 OF TOONS LEASE:
Tenant and landlord have previously orally agreed on October 28, 2005 that tenant may also use the leased premises for the purposes of hosting an anti-war campsite protest, where participants may assemble, hang banners, and by maintaining their physical presence, hold a vigil for peace. Such a protest may last for a period, or periods of time bounded by the date of the end of the occupation of Iraq or until the end of the lease term.

Landlord and tenant amend this lease to reflect that their oral agreement has now been reduced to writing and becomes part of this lease on this 4th day of November 2005.
